Top Ten Tuesday: Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven't Read!

For this week's entry in Top Ten Tuesday, I'm talking about books by authors I love that I haven't read yet! I don't actually have 10 authors, though, so I'll share what I can!

1. Morgan Matson - Second Chance Summer & Save the Date

As a self-proclaimed fan of Morgan Matson, it's pretty funny that I have more than one of her books on my TBR pile. I suppose I could cut myself some slack on Save the Date, but I've owned Second Chance Summer for a few years now and I just can't get myself to pick it up. I think it's the mixture of length (her books are always long) and the sad storyline that holds me back. But I WILL read that book...one day...eventually.

2. Gayle Forman - I Have Lost My Way & Sisters in Sanity

After reading If I Stay, I considered Forman a go-to author and read the books she released after (even though they didn't really live up to my expectations). That said, I still wanted to read Sisters in Sanity (a lesser known book published before If I Stay) and her most recent book, I Have Lost My Way. Both seem to take a much better look at mental illness than I Was Here

3. Jonathan Tropper - One Last Thing Before I Go

Yeaaaaarsssss ago, I considered Tropper a fave author and went through all of his books...except the last one he published. I kept holding off because I hated the idea that I wouldn't have anything to read by him until he published a new book. Guess what? He hasn't in YEARS! So like 5 years later, I still haven't read it, even though I own it. I might not even like his writing style anymore?!

4. Sarah J. Maas - Throne of Glass series

It seems like most people have read ToG and then gave ACOTAR a try...well, not me! I adore the ACOTAR trilogy (you know this, of course, if you know me), but I've been putting off ToG because I don't want to play the comparison game and there are more than 3 books (I'm so weird with series).

5. Tarryn Fisher - Marrow, Love Me With Lies 2 & 3...

I was scared to read Mud Vein, but it ended up being one of my all-time favorite books. Since then, I've made sure to pick up pretty much anything Fisher writes...including Marrow. But the thing is, I know I'll never read it, because the subject matter is something that I find upsetting. I just bought the ebook to support her *shruggy shoulders emoji*. Even though The Opportunist broke my heart and the story continues on, I don't know if I want to read the other two...if I do, it won't be for a while.

6. Christina Lauren - Beautiful Bastard series 2-whatever, Wild Seasons series 2-whatever, Dating You/Hating You

I've gotten into Christina Lauren pretty hard this year, and that's good for me because they are quite prolific and there is tons to delve into. I've started both of their series and do plan to continue. Dating You/Hating You is also sitting pretty on my shelf, waiting to be read!

7. Katie Cotugno - Fireworks

This year, I devoured 3 Cotugno books. I had already read her debut when it initially came out and then I just kind of let her fall on the back burner, which I regret but not really because there's more for me to read now! I've actually had Fireworks longer than the other books I read this year, but I am saving it...I don't know why. I also might check out the books she co-wrote under the name Ruby McNally

8. Colleen Hoover - Companions & Retellings/Never, Never

I adore CoHo, so I've read all of her major novels pretty much as quickly as I could (minus Too Late, which I skimmed because, again, the subject matter was too much for me). Luckily, she's started to do alternating perspectives in her novels, because before that she was retelling the stories from the male perspective and I don't particularly love that (why would I want to read the story again, but differently?). I still own the books but...yeah, I'm not in a hurry to read them. Also, she co-wrote Never, Never with Tarryn Fisher and I do plan on reading it...but I dunno when.

See any authors/books you've read and liked? Any you're fine with putting off?
Let me know in the comments!

    1. I'm nervous because of how special a place ACOTAR has in my heart. But I know so many people love ToG and that the world is so big and fleshed out...Maas's writing is so good...how could I not?
